Aside from full-body yoga poses, facial yoga is also a popular beauty practice. Facial yoga consists of exercises on the face that help move the facial muscles into specific positions. Doing these facial yoga exercises will keep the face firm and youthful, reduce sagging, and improve skin elasticity.
Not only that, facial yoga also increases blood flow and oxygen supply to the skin, helping improve cell longevity; it can also reduce tension on the face.
Muscle Lift
– Open your mouth into an O shape, then smile to lift the cheek muscles. Place your index fingers lightly on the cheek muscles below the eyes and gently stroke downwards.
– Lift up and smile again, pushing the muscles towards the eyes (do this 10 times. On the 10th time, lift the muscles as high as possible and hold for 20 seconds).
Massage from Mouth Corners to Cheekbones
– Smile and stretch your lips as if trying to expose your lips as much as possible (try to smile with the corners of your mouth to feel the slight tension at the corners of your mouth).
– Press your index fingers into the corners of your mouth and slide your fingers up to the cheekbones while pressing into the muscles. Lift the muscles towards the cheekbones and away from the eyes.
When touching the top of the cheekbones, hold for 20 seconds and feel the muscles in the cheeks tighten. Keep smiling with the corners of your mouth while doing this.
Eyebrow Lift
– Press the tips of three fingers on each side, below each eyebrow (to keep the eyes open). Slowly smile while using your fingers to lower the eyebrows and hold them there.
– Then close your eyes and roll your eyeballs towards the top of your head. Hold for 20 seconds and continue smiling.
Jaw and Neck Exercise
– Open your mouth and make a sound, fold the lower lip and corners of the lips into the mouth, hold tight while moving the lower jaw forward.
– Use the lower jaw, slowly bring the chin up as you close your mouth, pull the chin up about 2.5cm with each mouth movement and tilt your head back.
– Open and close the lower jaw 10 times. On the 10th time, the chin should be facing upward. Hold this position for 20 seconds and lift the face muscles on both sides.
Sunshine Exercise
– Press your fingertips into the sun zone, clench your teeth, and tilt your chin up.
– Bite down and focus on the sun zone, move your ears backward.
– Hold for 10 seconds, then bite your teeth again and hold for 10 seconds (the sun zone should be curved with each bite). Relax and then repeat 3 times.
