Throughout her weight loss journey, she received support from her husband and family, both emotionally and practically, such as: “My husband will cook dishes that are low in fat, he will reduce temptations for me to eat out, he will restrain himself from eating with me. My parents will also cook dishes other than my favorite ones, such as braised pig’s feet with peanuts, and instead they will send me 50 grapefruits to eat.”
According to Phan Nhu Thao, a reasonable diet plays a crucial role in successful weight loss: “Stop eating in a comfortable and unorganized manner, try to eat as little as possible, avoid snacking, avoid sugar and sweet foods, including sweet fruits, avoid fats and limit spices. After that, run for 45-60 minutes every day and you will lose weight.”
“I have difficulties when it comes to eating. The food standards are not high, but it has to be my favorite dish for me to eat, otherwise I will refrain from eating. If I eat something I don’t like, I won’t be happy and I might get easily irritated. Therefore, I don’t restrict myself, I will eat everything I want to eat, but only about 30% of it. I eat slowly, chew carefully to satisfy my craving and stop eating when I don’t feel hungry anymore, instead of eating until I feel full. I can say that for over a year, there hasn’t been a single day that I ate until I felt full,” shared the wife of a successful businessman from Ha Tinh.
Consistent exercise
She doesn’t eat lunch and only has a light dinner with lots of vegetables and fruits, and usually goes to bed at 2 a.m. due to busy work schedule. “I don’t have much free time, I have 5 hours to sleep at night. I think I’m still young, I have work to do, to be busy and have the health to pursue the goals I have set, so I have to try my best. Currently, I’m not 100% satisfied with my life, so I’m still trying every day to achieve my goals at the right time. When I’m 40 years old, I will retire. At that time, I’ll still be young enough to go out and fully enjoy life when there’s not much worry anymore,” she shared.
Emphasizing the mental factor
She shared, “The spirit determines everything, consciousness will determine actions, actions will determine material things, and material things will support the freedom of the mind. So for me, as long as I have a positive mindset, life will go well, and even at 60 years old, I will still be full of vitality and forever young.”
Careful skincare
She doesn’t apply too many advanced beauty methods. She usually chooses products that are suitable for her skin, focuses on cleaning her skin, and limits makeup.
“Instead of applying sunscreen, I will take sunscreen pills to avoid clogging my skin and enlarging my pores. I always wash my face with cold water. Every week, I detox my skin, deep cleanse, and take care of my skin at a spa. If I have to go on a business trip and can’t stay in Saigon, I will bring herbal powder to make DIY face masks twice a week,” she shared.
