What is keratosis pilaris?
This is a condition in which there is a buildup of damage to the hair follicles that appears on the arms, thighs, buttocks… These hair follicle lesions are red or brown, and they look like rashes, not painful but rough and dry the skin.
Keratosis pilaris is caused by keratin accumulation in the hair follicles. The reason for keratin buildup has not been found, but in some people, there are risk factors that increase the risk: Genetic, dry skin type, a history of inherited skin inflammation, poor hygiene…

2. Some ways to exfoliate dead skin and reduce keratosis pilaris at home
Exfoliating dead skin gently once or twice a week regularly helps to remove dead skin cells on the surface of the skin. You should choose products from reputable pharmaceutical companies to use, avoid side effects.
When you feel irritated, stop and choose another product. To be safe, you can consult a dermatologist or a skincare specialist about suitable products. Besides, you can use readily available ingredients to exfoliate the skin.
+ Exfoliate dead cells with coffee
Ingredients: 2-3 tablespoons of coffee grounds + 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
How to do: Mix all the ingredients above until it becomes a creamy mixture. Then take a shower and apply the mixture to the whole body while the body is still wet. Gently massage for about 10-15 minutes.
+ Exfoliate dead cells with oatmeal
How to do: Grind oatmeal into powder and mix it with yogurt to form a mixture, apply it to the body while still wet. Gently massage for about 15 minutes, then rinse the body with cold water.

Lemons are rich in vitamin C, which helps the skin exfoliate dead skin cells, and honey contains many nutrients, including sugar, carbohydrates, water, vitamins… that can effectively care for the skin.
Ingredients: 1 lemon + 2 tablespoons of honey
How to do: Squeeze the lemon juice, mix well with the honey. Take a shower and apply the solution evenly on the skin, gently massage for 10 minutes, then rinse with cold water.

Ingredients: ½ bowl of rice bran + 1 jar of yogurt or 100ml of fresh milk.
How to do: Mix the rice bran with yogurt or fresh milk until it forms a mixture. Take a shower and apply the mixture evenly to the whole body, gently massage for 15 minutes, then rinse with warm water.
No matter which exfoliating ingredient you use, you should take a bath with warm water for about 7 minutes. Gently massage from bottom to top to promote blood circulation. After bathing, apply moisturizer immediately. Especially, use mild bath milk or natural soap, without fragrance.
