2. How to make broccoli with oyster sauce

Step 1: Preparing the ingredients

– After buying broccoli, separate each leaf, wash them thoroughly, and cut them in half.

– Peel the garlic, wash it, and chop it finely.

– Rinse the chili with clean water, remove the head, and cut into rings.

Step 2: Mixing the oyster sauce

– Take a small bowl, then add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of white sugar, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of starch, and about 5 tablespoons of water.

– Use kitchen utensils such as a spoon or chopsticks to mix the ingredients well.

Step 3: Blanching the broccoli

– Put water in a pot, add 1 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, then bring it to a boil.

– When the water is boiling, add the pre-prepared broccoli and cook until tender. Then, remove the broccoli from the pot and set aside.

Step 4: Stir-frying the broccoli with oyster sauce

– Take a clean pan, add a little cooking oil and heat it up. Then, add the chopped garlic and chili rings and stir-fry until fragrant.

– When the garlic and chili become fragrant and slightly change color, pour the mixed sauce into the pan and cook until slightly thickened.

– Avoid buying broccoli with dark green stems as they are usually old. When eaten, they are no longer crispy and the nutritional value is not guaranteed. In addition, you should avoid broccoli with crushed or discolored stems.

– One simple way to choose broccoli is to press lightly on the stem. If it feels firm, it means that the broccoli plant is full, firm, and has many flower buds. On the contrary, if it feels soft, it means that the broccoli plant has an underdeveloped core and is not abundant.
