Go Green with Your Bean Choice
- Choose beans that are evenly shaped and green, and discard small or wormy beans.
When selecting beans, it is recommended to choose fresh ones that are firm, round, with a pleasant scent of beans, and no musty smell or white powder residue.
- To cook the beans until they are tender and flavorful, soak the green beans in warm water for 5 – 6 hours prior to cooking.

Sticky Rice Turns Hard and Dry
- Hard dry sticky rice is caused by insufficient water or when you press the rice and beans too tight in the pot, preventing air from escaping and resulting in the upper part of the rice becoming dry and hard.
– Therefore, when putting rice and beans into the pot, carefully scoop it up in handfuls and gently release the rice without pressing it.
– If the rice is still dry, you should stab it with chopsticks, add some hot water, cover tightly, and continue cooking. Avoid opening the lid too much while cooking.

Sticky Rice: Its MUSHY Texture
– Sticky rice is not mushy but rather has a sticky texture. You can improve its texture by adding bread crumbs.
– To do this, evenly coat the surface of the sticky rice with bread crumbs. Then, remove the lid to allow steam to escape. Once the sticky rice is fully cooked, transfer it onto a plate and allow it to steam further to reduce its overly soft texture.
Cooking with Raw Sticky Rice
For raw sticky rice, sprinkle a small amount of water on the rice, cover it with a moist cloth, tightly close the lid, and continue steaming. If the rice is still raw, continue sprinkling water and cooking.
