Staying up late regularly
Sleep is when the body recovers, internal organs self-heal, and repair any damages to ensure proper function for the next day… Staying up late for extended periods and lack of sleep not only decreases the immune system but also increases the workload on internal organs. Staying up late regularly can weaken the immune system and internal organs. Staying up late increases the risk of cancer.
Drinking alcohol before bed
Drinking alcohol before bedtime may make you feel relaxed and help you fall asleep, but this habit is harmful to the liver. Ethanol in alcohol is difficult to metabolize, and drinking before bed puts an extra burden on the liver, making it work harder without rest or recovery. Alcohol is one of the greatest hazards to human health, so it is best to avoid drinking alcohol, especially before bed.
Snacking before bed
According to clinical studies, many cancer patients prefer to snack at night before bed. Nighttime snacking often leads to unhealthy foods high in fat, salt, and additives. If this occurs frequently, it increases the risk of cancer. Additionally, eating a large meal before bed overwhelms the digestive system, resulting in symptoms such as indigestion, fatigue, and, in the long term, potential for cancer. Eating before bed forces the digestive system to work, with blood focusing on digestion, decreasing food digestion speed, and increasing blood viscosity. This can lead to blood clots and other cardiovascular diseases.
In addition, the following eating and drinking habits also increase the risk of cancer:
Eating moldy food: Do not consume moldy food as it may contain toxins, specifically aflatoxin – a naturally occurring fungal toxin. This is one of the leading causes of rapid liver cancer development. Therefore, when food molds, it should be discarded, even if only partially moldy.
Frequently consuming fried and grilled foods: Foods that are fried in oil and grilled with high-fat oils are even more dangerous as they increase the risk of various cancers, such as breast cancer, prostate cancer, and colorectal cancer.
These fried and grilled foods often contain high amounts of fat with high caloric content, causing lipid levels in the body to exceed the standard. This leads to rapid weight gain, reduces the ability to fight diseases, and creates conditions for the development of tumors. Deep frying also depletes the nutritional value of food and produces harmful toxic substances that cause cancer, age cells, and increase oxidative stress in the body.
Pre-packaged foods: Cold cuts and processed foods such as smoked meats, sausages… have a higher risk of cancer due to the generation of a certain amount of cancer-causing substances, including acrylamide (a nerve toxin with long-term accumulation ability) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). When PAH enters the body, it gradually undergoes metabolism and reacts with certain enzymes to form PAH dihydrodiol derivatives. These derivatives form covalent bonds with proteins and nucleic acids, causing gene mutations and cancer.
Regularly consuming pickled and salted foods: Cucumbers, pickles… are attractive stress relievers and enhance taste. However, using foods processed this way for a long time promotes cancer cell growth. The pickling process creates an increase in nitrite. When it enters the body, it is converted to ammonium nitrite, a component with a strong cancer-causing ability. If you have a habit of consuming salty foods like pickled tomatoes or pickled cabbage, the risk is even higher. Therefore, only eat salty foods occasionally and in moderation, and avoid excessively salty foods.
