Rodents such as rats can be a nuisance in households, causing damage and spreading diseases. However, finding effective methods to eliminate them can be challenging. Chemical methods may pose health risks, and store-bought traps are not always reliable.

Instead of spending money on chemical products and traps, many people have opted to use household items to trap and kill rats.

A YouTube channel called Animal World TV recently shared a video showcasing a simple yet highly effective homemade mousetrap made from balloons, bait, and plastic buckets.

Trap mice with balloons and plastic buckets

The process of making a mousetrap with balloons is straightforward: take a large plastic bucket, inflate the balloon to fit the size of the bucket’s opening, spread bait inside the bucket, and place two wooden or plastic sticks in the bucket. Then, simply wait for the rats to be lured in.

When the rats enter the trap and consume the bait, their sharp teeth will unintentionally bite the balloon, causing it to burst. At that point, all the rats feeding on the bait will fall into the plastic bucket and become trapped.

This homemade mousetrap is simple yet highly effective in capturing multiple rats simultaneously.
