1. How to use the air conditioner effectively
Place the fan in a well-ventilated place
Many consumers believe that when using an air conditioner fan, they must close the door as they would with an actual air conditioner. However, using the fan in a closed room with high humidity will decrease its cooling efficiency.
The air conditioner fan cools by balancing the environmental humidity, but you do not need to close the door like you would for an installed air conditioner. Just place the fan in a well-ventilated and spacious place, and it will effectively cool the area.
The fan uses water to lower the temperature without spraying steam, so it can be used in a room with electronic equipment without worrying about damage. The air intake side of the fan should be placed in a spacious area with a minimum distance of 20 cm from obstacles to catch a lot of wind.
No need to use a fan in a closed room
Air conditioner fans can be used in any open space, eliminating the need for costly home repairs.
These devices effectively cool spacious and well-ventilated rooms, including those with electronic equipment or furniture, as they only use steam to reduce the temperature. They are safe for electrical appliances and wood.
Pour the right amount of water into the tank
When using an air conditioner fan, it is recommended to fill the tank with water at least half full.
Pouring too much water can cause overflow or leakage, increasing the risk of fire.
The sitting position is suitable to catch the right amount of cool wind
Depending on the operating capacity, there is an optimal sitting position to ensure the most appropriate amount of wind and cooling.
The following sitting positions are recommended:
- Fans with a capacity of less than 80 W: Sit about 2-3 meters away from the fan to catch enough cool wind.
- Power over 80 W: Sit more than 3 meters away to ensure health safety and avoid discomfort.
Clean the air conditioner fan regularly
It is recommended to clean the air conditioner fan every week/month depending on usage needs.
Regular cleaning of dust filters, cooling pads, and water tanks will ensure proper functioning and increase durability.
If the fan has an unpleasant smell, it may be due to the newly purchased fan having a glue smell from the cooling pad bindings. This smell will disappear after the first use. If the smell persists, it may be due to the cooling pad not drying properly. In such cases, turn off the cooling mode for approximately 30 minutes to allow the fan to dry the cooling pad and eliminate the smell.
Humidify for dry, low-humidity environments
If the air humidity is too low, manually increase the humidity by cleaning the house, leaving a basin of water or a damp cloth in the room, or spraying water or wetting the yard/floor in outdoor spaces. This will support the cooling of the fan more effectively and create a pleasant feeling when using it.
Do not place anything around the fan
Avoid placing objects around the fan, as it limits air circulation, overheats the product, and reduces durability. The fan is designed to receive wind from multiple sides to improve air circulation.
Placing objects around the fan while it is operating can cause poor cooling and waste energy. It is important to keep the area around the fan clear.
2. How to use an air conditioner fan to save electricity
Here are some tips on using an air conditioner fan to save electricity:
- Place the fan in a cool, unobstructed area to optimize cooling and save energy.
- Clean the fan regularly to remove dust and improve cooling efficiency.
- Limit the use of ion and ozone generation modes, as they consume more power.
- Turn off the fan and unplug the power cord when not in use to save electricity.
3. A few other notes when using an air conditioner fan
The air conditioner fan cools the air, but it does not provide the same level of cooling as an actual air conditioner. It can reduce the temperature by approximately 4-15 degrees Celsius depending on various factors.
- If the water cooling function is not used, the fan has the same cooling function as a normal mechanical fan.
- When starting the fan, choose the Cool mode. Add cold water to the water tank and wait for 15 minutes for the best cooling effect.
- After letting the fan run for about 15-20 minutes, select the rotation mode to cool the entire room.
- Change the water tank weekly to prevent bacterial growth.
- Combine manual humidification with Humidity Control mode and air cleaning functions, if available.
- Set the temperature to about 24-26 degrees Celsius when the outside temperature is 30 degrees Celsius.
4. Instructions for using the functions of the air conditioner fan
Here is a basic example of how to use an air conditioner fan, using the Sunhouse SHD7727 as a reference:
- On/Off: Use the On/Off icon in the touch panel or remote to turn the fan on or off.
- Rotation: Change the direction of rotation of the splitter to control the airflow.
- Modes: Includes 3 modes – normal wind, natural wind, and sleeping wind.
- Speed: Adjust the fan speed to Low, Medium, or High depending on your needs.
- Cooling: Enable the fan’s steam function for cooling. Without this function, the fan functions as a regular mechanical fan.
- Ion (-): Activate the ion generator function for filtering and releasing fresh air.
- Timer: Use the timer to automatically turn off the fan after a specified period of time, up to 12 hours.
Before operating the Sunhouse Air Conditioner Fan SHD7727, remove the packaging, install 4 wheels on the base, and place the product on a stable surface. Fill the reservoir with water on the side. Control the fan using the touch panel or the remote control within a 5-meter range.
- Step 1: Start up. Press the On/Off icon on the touch panel or remote to start the device. Press the On/Off icon again to stop it.
- Step 2: Activate the Spin icon to automatically rotate the air guide strips. Adjust the louver up and down as needed.
- Step 3: Select the desired Control Mode.
Air conditioner fans provide quick and deep cooling, offering many benefits and overcoming limitations of other types of fans. Properly equipping and using an air conditioner fan can maximize its cooling effect and save electricity.
