Saltwater. Add 2 teaspoons of salt to warm water and let it cool, then soak the food for half an hour before rinsing with cold water. This will help remove more pesticides than cold water.
White vinegar. This is a simple but effective solution, pour a tablespoon of white vinegar into a bowl of warm water, soak the food for a few minutes and then rinse with cold water. According to the US Environmental Working Group, white vinegar contains acetic acid that helps dissolve residual pesticides on the skin of fruits and vegetables and also kills over 90% of bacteria.
Baking soda and lemon juice mixture. Mix 1 tablespoon of lemon juice with 2 tablespoons of baking soda in a spray bottle. Spray the mixture on fruits and vegetables and rinse with cold water after a few minutes. The combination of these two ingredients will clean the food without causing any harm.
Diluted fresh lemon water. Diluted fresh lemon water can be used to clean fruits and vegetables. Also use a diluted fresh lemon water solution to spray on fruits and vegetables, then soak them in cold water for about 10 minutes.
