1. Use chopsticks

When you find ants crawling into the sugar jar, you should take a few chopsticks and stick them deep into the bottom of the container to lure the ants.

Wait until the ants climb up on the chopsticks, then lift the chopsticks out and shake off the ants. Repeat this process until all the ants are gone.

Alternatively, you can stick the chopsticks against an object to divert the ants in a different direction.

2. Use stainless steel spoon

This method is similar to using chopsticks. Simply use a long stainless steel spoon, insert it deep into the sugar jar until it touches the bottom, then wait for a while for the ants to crawl up onto the spoon. Gently lift the spoon out of the jar and move it to another location.

If there are still ants, you can continue doing the same process until there are no more ants inside.

3. Use a newspaper

You can spread a clean newspaper and place it in a dry and airy location, then tap it to make the ants crawl outside and deal with them. After getting rid of the ants, pour the sugar back into the jar.

4. Use fire for the sugar jar

This is probably the method that most people use when ants invade the sugar jar in the kitchen.

It’s simple, just open the lid of the sugar jar and place it next to the gas stove. Light the fire at a low level, enough to heat the sugar jar. Wait a few minutes and the ants will crawl out one by one because of the heat.

However, you should only use a small fire, enough to heat the sugar jar, don’t use medium or large fire as it may cause the sugar to burn and the ants to die inside the jar.
