Banana is a fruit that contains many beneficial nutrients for health, but bananas ripen quickly and develop black spots.

Bananas can be preserved without developing black spots by freezing them. Frozen bananas will have dark peels, but the flesh inside will still be beautiful and free from spots.

Bananas are a type of fruit that many people know and love because of their distinctive fragrance, but not everyone knows how to properly preserve bananas to keep them delicious.

Firstly, we can place bananas with their peels on in a ziplock bag or arrange peeled bananas on a baking tray lined with non-stick paper and put them in the freezer. This method not only prevents bananas from developing spots but also preserves them for 2 – 4 months.

When storing in the refrigerator, we should use food wrap to wrap around the banana fruit or stem and store it in the cool compartment. This method also helps prevent bananas from becoming overripe, blackened, or broken.

If you want to store bananas for a longer time without worrying about spoilage and nutrient loss, you can apply the following instructions for storing in the freezer:

For peeled bananas: After peeling the bananas, you can evenly stack them in a box or a tightly sealed ziplock bag and store them in the freezer. With this method, bananas can be preserved for up to 2 months.

For unpeeled bananas: You can place the bananas in a ziplock bag or a plastic container with a lid and store them in the freezer. This method will allow you to store bananas for 3 – 4 months (note that when storing bananas in the freezer, you may notice that the peels turn black, but the flesh inside the bananas is still delicious).

In addition, you can boil the bananas and store them in the freezer in an airtight container or a ziplock bag. This method also allows you to store bananas for about 3 days. Moreover, the bananas will be softer and sweeter when eaten.
