5K anytime, anywhere
Since the emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the phrase 5K has become commonly used by many people. This includes my own family, especially the children who have memorized and often remind their parents about it.
Wearing masks, regular disinfection, maintaining distance, avoiding crowded places, and regularly declaring one’s health status are basic measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In the face of a complex epidemic situation, it is crucial not to neglect any of these 5K measures.
Is proper disinfection easy?

Living on a main road, my house experiences more traffic compared to other areas. Therefore, we always pay close attention to disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doors, door handles, kitchen surfaces, and even our phones and computers.
It’s not as complicated as many may think! For specialized devices like kitchen surfaces, computers, and phones, I use specialized cleaning solutions. For areas like doors, door handles, and staircases, I use soap or cleaning agents and clean water.
Regular laundry
We have increased the frequency of washing clothes, blankets, drapes, pillows, etc. due to the pandemic. Instead of once a week, we now clean them every 3-4 days. It may be a bit more challenging and time-consuming, but it also presents an opportunity for the entire family to stay active during these times of “staying indoors.”
One useful tip that my wife learned from YouTube videos is to not keep dirty clothes and pillows around to minimize the risk of airborne virus transmission.
Make a specific shopping list, shop quickly

My neighborhood issues shopping vouchers every 3 days. Therefore, before going to the market, my family always holds a “family meeting” to identify what items are needed, plan the upcoming meals, and create a detailed shopping list.
Some may find this process cumbersome, but I have discovered numerous advantages to making a shopping list, such as: saving on living expenses, saving time in the grocery store, minimizing contact with strangers and the risk of infection, and saving cooking time because the menu is already planned.
Shopping doesn’t end there! Maybe I am a bit cautious, but when I return home, I always disinfect the bags, remove unnecessary packaging, and dispose of them in a tightly sealed trash can. I also use a separate cutting board when preparing raw and cooked food.
Eat and drink moderately
During this stage, my family limits the consumption of raw and uncooked food and only consumes fully cooked dishes to ensure our health.
No matter how busy I am, I always make time to prepare a glass of orange or lemon juice for the children every day. I also encourage the whole family to consume more vegetables, fruits, and other immune-boosting foods. Additionally, I assign the task to my husband of spending at least 30 minutes a day exercising to improve his health. While I do yoga, the three of them can play ball, table tennis, or do crunches together.
Get vaccinated as soon as possible
Everyone understands the significance and importance of vaccines in the fight against Covid-19, so I won’t dwell on that. I simply want to say: seize the opportunity and get vaccinated as soon as you can!
Even pregnant women from 13 weeks onwards and breastfeeding mothers are encouraged by the Ministry of Health to get vaccinated after careful screening. So why should we miss out on our opportunity?
