1 Why Do We Need an Incantation for the First Day of Tet?

The offerings typically include: incense, fresh flowers, clean water, a tray of five types of fruit, betel and areca nuts, wine, oil lamps, candles, cakes, and candies… If it is during Tet, there will also be savory dishes such as: sticky rice cakes, glutinous rice, and chicken…

The offerings for the first day of Tet and the first day of the month both express our respect and gratitude to our ancestors, grandparents, and those who have contributed to the country and brought peace to everyone.
Basically, the ceremonies for the first day of Tet and the first day of the month are quite similar. Both require offerings for ancestor worship, such as candles, gold and silver paper, fruits, tea, wine, cakes, and candies, as well as the ingredients for the offerings and incantations.
