1 Rice Heat Pack

After a tiring day, if you want to relax, make yourself a quick rice heat pack. Place some rice in a fabric bag of your choice, then put it in the microwave for about 30 seconds and take it out. Now you have a heat pack to soothe those aching muscles after a long day.

2 Rescue Your Phone from Water Damage

Don’t panic if your phone accidentally takes a dip! Stay calm, fish it out, and remove the battery immediately. Then, leave it overnight in a container of rice. Rice is an excellent absorbent, so by morning, your phone should be dry as a bone. Avoid using a hairdryer as the strong airflow can damage the small components.

3 Clean Burnt Pots and Pans

Cooking is an art, and burning food happens to the best of us! For burnt pots and pans, or for cleaning aluminum and stainless steel cookware that has been left unused and developed rust, try this: Fill the pot with rice water, place it on the stove, and boil until the water simmers. Then, turn off the heat and let it cool down. Pour out the water, rinse the pot, and you’ll see it’s much cleaner than before. For the outside of the pot, soak it in rice water and scrub with a sponge.

4 Clean Narrow-Necked Containers

Teapots, glass jars, and other narrow-necked containers can be a pain to clean. To solve this problem, simply add a handful of rice, a few drops of dish soap, and fill the container about 2/3 full with water. Then, cover the opening with your hand and shake vigorously until the inside is clean.

5 Test the Temperature of Your Frying Oil

To check if your frying oil is hot enough without affecting the flavor of your food, simply drop in a few grains of rice. Just remember to fish them out before adding your food to the pan!

6 Preserve Metal Tools
