Use old writing paper
Ms. Tran Thi Xuan (52 years old, Thanh Hoa) is a cleaning staff at a hotel on Nguyen Chanh street, Hanoi. She said that when she first started doing this job, she was very troubled because she didn’t know how to make the bathroom mirror shiny. Just a drop of water left on the mirror will leave a stain.
“Many people choose to use a cotton towel to wipe the mirror. This method is quite effective in preserving the mirror and avoiding scratches on the surface. However, using a cotton towel may not completely clean the stains, and it may even leave lint on the mirror. Instead, a soft crumpled piece of old writing paper can completely clean the dirt,” Ms. Xuan shared.
Vinegar and salt
Ms. Xuan has been working in the hotel industry for nearly 5 years and regularly using cleaning chemicals can have negative effects on health. That’s why she often uses natural ingredients for her work.
Vinegar and salt are two ingredients that make bathroom mirrors shiny and long-lasting. Dissolving 250 grams of salt in 500 ml of vinegar will create a mixture that helps Ms. Xuan clean 10 bathroom mirrors. This is a very effective way for Ms. Xuan to work easier: “Pour the mixture into a spray bottle and wet the mirror surface, then use a dry cloth to gently wipe away the stains, which will be immediately removed.”
Adhesive putty
Using adhesive putty to clean mirrors is a new method that many people have not tried. For mirrors with stubborn stains that have not been cleaned for a long time or have difficult-to-remove residues, this is an excellent choice.
Apply adhesive putty evenly on the mirror surface for 5 minutes, then use a rubber brush to spread the putty evenly on the mirror. Then use warm water to rinse it off. To avoid any water droplets that may leave stains, use crumpled old writing paper to absorb any remaining moisture on the mirror.
Plaster or cornstarch
Use diluted plaster or cornstarch with water, pour the mixture into a spray bottle and shake well before each use. If you have time, let the solution dry on the mirror’s surface and then use a damp cloth to wipe it off. But if you need to do it quickly, you can use clean water to rinse the mirror again. However, it is also important to quickly dry the mirror’s surface to prevent it from blackening.
Toothpaste
People usually stand in front of the bathroom mirror to brush their teeth, but few think of using toothpaste to make the mirror shiny. Cleaning the mirror with toothpaste is very simple: “Squeeze a little toothpaste onto a clean towel, then lightly wipe it across the mirror. The cleaning agents in toothpaste will quickly remove the stains. Moreover, wiping the mirror with toothpaste helps prevent the surface from being fogged by hot steam. It’s really convenient and suitable for cleaning mirrors at home,” Ms. Xuan shared.
With these simple and easy-to-implement methods for cleaning and maintaining bathroom mirrors, your family bathroom will always be clean and shiny without any unpleasant stains.
