This is a dish used to welcome guests, and it is easy to make, so every time Tet comes, many women show off their skills in making candy instead of buying it. As a homemade dish, it will never use preservatives, and therefore, our candy will be more prone to melting compared to the ones sold outside.
The most prone types of candy to melting are coconut candy and pumpkin candy. So how can we prevent candy from melting during Tet? The simple and easiest way is to seal the candy container tightly and tie the plastic bag tightly if it contains candy in a bag. Just avoid air entering the container or bag, and you can ensure the majority of the conditions for non-melting candy. Whenever you eat, you should only take small portions at a time. Candy that is exposed to the air for too long will become soft and melt.
In addition, you should store candy in a clean glass container, sun-dried completely. The jar must be airtight and sprinkle a layer of sugar on top of the candy stored in the jar. Sugar will act as a moisture absorber, helping the candy to stay non-melting and last longer. Don’t forget this important step. Absolutely do not put candy in the freezer because it will spoil and melt when you take it out.
For the amount of candy that has been placed on the tray, you must always cover the candy tray tightly and should not place too much candy on it. Additionally, the candy must avoid direct sunlight, otherwise, it will melt and create bacteria. In case the candy melts, do not throw it away, but instead put it back in a pan. Just stir it well, evenly, and let it dry to be able to reuse it.
Only take a sufficient amount of candy to avoid the candy being exposed to the air and becoming soft.
