As such, Levi Strauss, the brains behind the Levi’s brand, incorporated this small pocket into his 1873 design for workwear jeans intended for laborers and cowboys. The pocket became known as a fob pocket.
As jeans gained popularity, the tiny pocket became a convenient receptacle for small items such as coins, keys, or simply a decorative element.

Another curious detail of jeans is the small patch of leather or denim near the waistband. Besides displaying the brand’s logo, this patch is known as a Jacron.
Levi’s pioneered this design.
