Don’t spoil and pamper your child, it’s important for a child to become independent. The more strict parents are, the more successful the child can become.

Let the child participate in housework from an early age

Every parent wants to give their child the best and most fulfilling life. Because they spoil their child too much, parents often do everything for their child, not letting them get involved in anything, which is completely wrong.

We all remember the story of the 17-year-old prodigy Wei Yong Kang who was admitted to the Chinese Academy of Sciences with outstanding results before finishing high school.

In theory, students who achieve such high results will be partners of the main training course of the school, but prodigy Wei Yong Kang was fired before he got his diploma. The reason for the dismissal surprised many people: his self-care skills were too poor.

The mother of this prodigy taught him to be “an academic genius but slow in intellectual development in life”.

The mother believed, trusted that her child only needed to study well and have high grades to have a good future. Therefore, besides studying, Wei Yong Kang’s mother did not do any housework.

As a result, at the age of 2, this prodigy already knew 1000 Chinese characters, finished elementary school at the age of 4, and passed the exam to a prestigious high school in the province at the age of 8. At the age of 13, he was admitted to the Physics Department of Tsinghua University and then passed the Advanced Physics Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

However, the mother quit her job, rented a separate house to live in and took care of her son from feeding, bathing, to pouring water. Every morning, she prepared toothpaste on the brush, carried water to the bed for washing her face. Even when her son wet the bed, Mrs. Mai also brought the chamber pot.

Only when this child studied at the Academy, without his mother by his side, the life of this 17-year-old prodigy became chaotic and lacked rules.

In winter, he didn’t know how to wear warm clothes because no one reminded him, couldn’t do personal hygiene tasks, and even received a grade of 0 for forgetting to submit his thesis because no one reminded him. Finally, he had to drop out of school because he couldn’t adapt to the learning environment here.

Nobel Prize in Physics winner and US Energy Secretary Zhu Yiwen once said: “It is hard to imagine that children who only study, who don’t even know how to fry or boil an egg, can do experiments.”

The ultimate goal of education is to make children have a better life. Therefore, parents need to guide their children on how to do household chores and develop self-care skills.

Through working, children will learn many life lessons, at the same time, they will also learn to love labor, develop qualities and abilities that can be used throughout their lives.

Let your child bear the consequences of their mistakes

Parents need to teach their children to take responsibility for the mistakes they make.

Right after the child makes a mistake is the most appropriate time to educate them. If parents can educate their children affectionately at this time, the child will definitely get better and better.

There is a story that when President Reagan was a child, he collected some banned fireworks, and while distributing them, he was arrested by the police and had to pay a fine of $12.5. At that time, a dollar could buy 10 laying hens, equivalent to 125 hens, which was a large amount of money and Reagan himself could not afford.

The father knew about this but did not scold or beat his son, just said to Reagan: “The family is rich, but this time I can’t give it to you, you have to take responsibility for your mistake. Dad temporarily lends you $12.5, but it must be paid back after a year.” To repay the debt to his father, Reagan worked hard outside of school to earn money. After more than half a year of hard work, Reagan finally earned $12.5 and proudly put it in the hands of his father.

Reagan’s father patted him on the shoulder and said, “A man who can take responsibility for his own mistakes will be rewarded in the future.” Reagan later became President and wrote in his memoirs about the question: What is taking responsibility for your mistakes?

When a child makes a mistake, let the child bear the consequences and increase the cost of their mistake.

When they are young, children can’t distinguish between right and wrong, so only parents can understand that and teach them.

Make the child study hard

Studying and reading books a lot is not the only way out for ordinary people, but it is certainly the best door if you want wealth and a place in society.

As parents, you have a responsibility for your child’s future. From an early age, parents need to be strict with their children’s studies and let them study hard. Only with knowledge can nurture your child a beautiful soul, a good foundation for the future.
