Korean-style makeup will bring a fresh, youthful, and vibrant look to the brides.
Step 1 Skin Care Before Makeup
Brides-to-be are usually very busy before their wedding day. As a result, they often have dark circles under their eyes. To address this, brides should use eye masks to relax, moisturize, and brighten the eye area. After applying the eye mask, gently massage the eye area to allow the essence to absorb better.
Eye Moisturizing
For the face, it is crucial to provide sufficient moisture to ensure a dewy and non-cakey base.
Step 2 Apply Primer
Take a sufficient amount of primer and dot it on five points of the face (both cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin).

Then, gently massage it into the skin to allow the primer to absorb. Primers help moisturize the skin and minimize imperfections such as large pores and uneven skin tone.
Step 3 Apply Foundation
Instead of using a liquid foundation, opt for a cushion foundation. Cushions will give you a thin, lightweight, and dewy base without the heaviness of a traditional foundation.
Use a puff to gently press into the cushion and then gently blend the product onto the skin following the direction of skin texture.
Blend cushion foundation evenly
Once you’ve covered the entire face with foundation, flip the puff and use the dry side to absorb excess product, creating a naturally dewy effect.
Step 4 Conceal
Use a concealer to cover dark circles, the corners of the nose and mouth, and the eyebrows.
Blend concealer evenly
You can also use the concealer to cover small blemishes and dark spots. Then, use a concealer brush to blend the product evenly on the areas you want to conceal.
Step 5 Set with Powder
Set with powder
Use a powder brush to pick up some setting powder and gently apply it to the skin. Focus on the T-zone first as it tends to get oily, and then move on to the other areas of the face.
Step 6 Fill in the Eyebrows
Korean brides usually prefer naturally-shaped eyebrows with a soft brown color and moderate thickness.
Fill in the eyebrows
You can use an eyebrow pencil or powder to fill in your brows. Keep in mind that the end of the eyebrow should align with the wing of the nose and the outer corner of the eye. Use a brown eyebrow pencil to create small, hair-like strokes following the natural direction of your eyebrow hairs.
Then, use the spoolie brush at the end of the pencil to gently brush through the eyebrows to soften the look and create a more natural appearance.
Step 7 Eyeshadow
Use an earthy orange shade and blend it gently from the eyelid to the crease, and similarly on the lower eyelid.
Use a brown shade to add depth to the outer corner of the eye, and then blend it outward for a natural-looking depth.
Apply shimmer to the lower eyelid
Use a shimmery orange shade on the eyelid to create a brightening effect. Avoid applying shimmer to the outer corner and crease of the eye.
For the lower eyelid, focus on the center and apply a thin line. Then, use an eyeliner pencil to tightline your eyes so that there are no gaps when you apply false lashes later.
Step 8 Curl and Apply Mascara
Apply mascara
Use an eyelash curler to gently curl your lashes, focusing on the base, middle, and tips to create a natural lift. Then, apply mascara to add volume to the roots and lengthen the lashes. Don’t forget to apply mascara to the lower lashes as well.
Step 9 Apply False Lashes
False lashes can also impact the overall eye look. Choose false lashes that have a moderate length and thickness, and a soft, natural-looking material similar to real lashes. Avoid overly thick or dramatic lashes as they can make the eyes appear smaller and cause eyelid sagging.
Apply false lashes
Apply a thin layer of lash glue to the false lashes and wait for 10-20 seconds for it to become tacky. Close your eye and gently place the false lash as close to your natural lash line as possible, securing the inner and outer corners first and then the center.
Step 10 Create Eyebags
Use a white eyeshadow pencil to draw a line from the outer corner to about ⅔ of the lower eyelid, creating a subtle eyebag effect. Draw a line that is approximately 3-4mm thick, ensuring it is neat and does not smudge.
Create eyebags
Gently outline the eyebag with an earthy orange eyeshadow to create a soft, natural look. Avoid making the line too thick or dark, as this can make the eyebags appear like dark circles.
The eyebag effect will make the bride’s eyes appear larger, rounder, and more gentle.
Step 11 Eyeliner
Apply eyeliner
Instead of using gel or pencil eyeliner, opt for a liquid eyeliner in brown rather than black to create a softer look. Draw a thin line close to the lash line, following the shape of the false lashes.
Step 12 Contour and Highlight
Korean bridal makeup usually focuses on creating a full and glowing look. Contour the jawline and nose to enhance the facial structure.
For the nose, create a straight line from the inner corner of the eyebrow to the tip of the nose, and then contour the sides of the nose to make it appear more refined.
Contour and highlight
Highlight the chin, the bridge of the nose, and the cheeks to make the face appear slimmer and more defined.
Step 13 Blush
Apply blush from the top of the cheeks to below the eyes to create a natural, rosy-cheeked look.
Apply blush
Then, use a slightly darker shade of blush on the apples of the cheeks to add fullness to the face. Finally, apply a pink highlighter to the cheeks to add a luminous, glowing effect.
Step 14 Lip Makeup
Apply lip color
Use a vibrant lip color and apply it to the inner part of the lips, blending it outward to create a natural gradient effect.
Step 15 Bridal Hairstyle
Korean brides often prefer soft, bouncy, and romantic curly hairstyles. You can curl your hair and add some sparkling accessories or a veil to complete the look.
