After the 2/9 holiday, domestic pepper prices continued to show a slight upward trend. Other localities remained at high levels. Pepper prices in Ba Ria-Vung Tau province reached the 80,000 VND/kg mark.
Currently, the domestic market is bustling after about two weeks of stagnation. However, the COVID-19 situation in localities with ports around Ho Chi Minh City is greatly affecting domestic pepper prices.
1 Domestic Pepper Prices
Pepper prices in the domestic market today ranged from 76,000 – 80,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the same period yesterday in the key growing areas.
Specifically, the latest pepper prices in the following provinces are as follows:
- Dong Nai had the lowest price at 76,000 VND/kg
- Gia Lai was at 77,000 VND/kg
- Dak Lak and Dak Nong were at 78,000 VND/kg
- Binh Phuoc was at 79,000 VND/kg
- Ba Ria-Vung Tau had the highest price at 80,000 VND/kg
In late September 2021, many experts believed that prices would continue to rise slightly, as we are approaching the 15/9 milestone, and southern provinces and cities will further relax COVID-19 prevention measures, thereby facilitating production, circulation, and pepper exports.
