Parents Should Teach Kids Compassion, Society Should Not

In the family, parents may be loving and forgiving, but in the outside world, if you lack manners, you will be excluded.

The society operates based on fundamental rules. Human beings are flexible and dynamic, but they should not violate the minimum rules as it can infringe on the freedom of others. Without rules, families that do not teach their children rules will be destroyed, and children will lag behind society and be vulnerable to lurking dangers.

Children should not be taught risky rules

Rules within a certain limit help children grow up freely without infringing on others. If the rules are too strict, children will be stifled. Without rules, children are like wild plants, not knowing where to grow and will be destroyed. Therefore, children who do not understand the boundaries of basic rules will be expelled and avoided by others.

Parents may be tolerant of their children and may not realize that society does not accept it when their children engage in behavior that violates the rules and bothers others. Many parents still cover up for their children and often justify that young children do not know anything.

Young children are not ignorant; everything they know from an early age will shape their personality in the future. Parents who cover up their children’s wrong behavior are like setting a time bomb. There is a saying that “the flaws of children are not terrible. What is terrible is that parents are the ones who guide them without a correct understanding of family education and teaching methods”.

Therefore, if you want your child to develop freely, you must differentiate between freedom and lawlessness. So from an early age, teach your child the simplest rules that are suitable for the social and ethical environment.

Well-behaved children are knowledgeable; children with knowledge always have a better position than unruly children. Lawlessness may harm others, but it is not power, it is a curse. Therefore, if parents want their children to have a bright future, the most important thing is to establish rules. Well-behaved children are carefully taught by their parents, while misbehaved children are indulged by their parents.

Rules to teach children from an early age

When you do not teach your child rules, society will replace you to teach them a lesson. Young children are like blank sheets of paper; when not taught, they do not know what to do. When they are not taught when they grow up, it is difficult to change. Therefore, teach them right from the beginning, at least these rules:

1. When you see older people, proactively greet them. And to teach this, parents should proactively greet their children when they are not familiar to teach them.

2. When an older person gives you something, hold it with both hands.

3. When eating together, wait for the older person to pick up the chopsticks before starting. Know how to greet and pay attention to eating.

4. Do not waste food, do not throw food. Teach children to appreciate the efforts of workers, then good habits will be formed.

5. Eat with your mouth, not with your hands, put food into your mouth, rather than using your mouth to find food.

6. Do not shake your feet or shrug your shoulders while eating. When eating with others, do not eagerly pick the dish you like, pay attention to the other person’s portion.

7. When going outside, do not make noise in the crowd, to not affect others.

8. Do things within your age capabilities, such as eating and dressing yourself, tidying up toys… These small tasks can nurture the child’s willpower, self-esteem, self-confidence, and responsibility.

9. Apologize for mistakes. Children learn how to apologize when they make mistakes to truly understand their mistakes, learn from them, and make improvements for the next time.

10. Do not take others’ belongings without permission, borrow and return them to the correct position. Be grateful for what you receive.

When going out, polite and understanding children will often be highly regarded by others, and the family education foundation will be praised. From these rules, children will become confident, independent individuals who know how to develop themselves without violating others. This is also a way to protect oneself. Usually, sometimes disasters suddenly happen that we do not know why, but most of the time, there are cases where disasters occur because there is a cause. Rules are a part to help children avoid sowing bad seeds to be safer in society.
