Which Comes First: The Chicken or the Egg? Finally, the Most Accurate Answer Revealed.

If you were to list the most controversial "classic" questions, surely the "brain hack" question would not be missing: which came first, the chicken or the egg? Until now, whether the chicken or the egg came first seems logical but impossible to have a definitive answer.

Throughout the ages, many people have been perplexed by the question: “If the chicken came before the egg, then who ‘birthed’ the chicken? If the egg came before the chicken, then who laid the egg?” For centuries, this question has remained a mystery to philosophers and scientists worldwide. For a long time, many even believed that the egg came first because the chicken can only exist if there is an egg. However, science has proven the opposite to be true, that the chicken came first.

To explain this answer a few years ago, scientists from the University of Sheffield and the University of Warwick (UK) revealed that they had discovered an important protein substance that makes up the shell of an egg using the supercomputer HECToR. However, it was only found in the egg chambers of female chickens.

This implies that, in order to exist outside the environment, as we usually see, the egg must be inside the body of a chicken.

It is known that this special protein substance is called ovocledidin-17 (or OC-17). It has transformed calcium carbonate into calcium crystals, acting as a catalyst accelerating the development of the eggshell. It is like a solid, sturdy “home” that protects the yolk inside or the future chicks.

According to Dr. Colin Freeman – one of the researchers from the University of Sheffield, shared with the British media, “For a long time, many thought that the egg came first. However, now we have scientific evidence to confirm that, in reality, the chicken comes before the egg.”

Despite the concrete scientific research, many netizens still find it “unconvincing”. They raise questions like, “What if there is no egg? How can there be a chicken?” “After reading it, I still feel confused because I don’t understand how the chicken just fell from the sky?” “Well, I’ll just think that the chicken is a species that evolved and then laid eggs,”

Although calcium can be found abundantly in eggs and animal bones, chicken species can produce this substance faster than other species. On average, every 24 hours, each female chicken can produce 6 grams of calcium in the eggshell.
