Cooking rice has become a familiar daily task for women, but in order to have a pot of fragrant, fluffy, shiny, non-sticky, long-lasting rice, attention must be paid to every small detail in the cooking process. Experienced chefs have revealed that to make perfect delicious rice, you need to remember the following simple tips:

1. Do not wash the rice too thoroughly

Many people wash the rice too thoroughly before cooking, even soaking the rice multiple times in a large bowl until the rice becomes white and pure. At that time, the nutrients on the outside of the rice grains will be depleted, and the rice will only have a starchy core. On the other hand, consuming too much starch can increase the risk of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. Rubbing the rice too thoroughly while washing will also remove a lot of nutrients such as carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, minerals, vitamins B1, B2, B6…

Therefore, instead of washing the rice multiple times, we should only wash it once, gently rubbing to remove dirt and impurities inside the rice grains.

2. Use the same amount of water for each type of rice

Each type of rice requires a different amount of water for cooking, so you need to carefully research how much water to use for the rice you are cooking. Do not cook different types of rice with the same water ratio. This will make your rice sometimes sticky and sometimes hard!

3. Do not add cooking oil or white vinegar

After adding enough water to the rice pot, add 1 tablespoon of white vinegar to the rice pot. Many people worry that adding vinegar will make the rice sour, but in reality, only add 2-3 drops. Vinegar will make the rice whiter, non-sticky, and even last longer without spoilage. In addition, the vinegar will dissipate when the rice boils. The rice will be soft and fragrant.

Finally, add a small amount of cooking oil, then cook the rice. Do not add oil after cooking the rice, as it will make the rice oily and the smell of oil will make the rice less appetizing. Thanks to the cooking oil, the rice grains will be shiny, round, and very attractive.

4. Keep the rice warm

After the rice has dried and cooked, do not immediately open the rice cooker, as you should not open the lid at that time. Let it stay in the keep-warm mode for an additional 5 minutes to make the rice grains softer, evaporate some of the moisture, and the rice will also have a delicious flavor.

Wishing you success!
